Felted Works

My felted creations are made from pure Corriedale wool, felted very firmly with nothing more than a felting needle and a lot of patience. I use highly processed wool called Roving, often used by spinners, who spin their own wool. Beneath that I use a batt which results in a very firm core, thus increasing the pieces longevity.

My felties are constructed with a wire armature for posing and quality. Hand blown glass eyes and mohair locks complete the fine details
.
Felting is a very time consuming process, but well worth the effort. Nothing is quite like the soft, smooth feeling of a felted sculpture.

You may also have noticed, many of my bears have felted accents on them as well.

An example of how felting is done.

On the left is a picture of the colored wool I use. Wish such an array of colors, my felties are not painted or colored in anyway.
On the right you’ll see color being added to the pumpkin with a felting needle, with the core wool off to the side. They are all felted on a sturdy foam base, and felted very firmly. They cannot be pulled apart or broken. .
